Boating shouldn’t be complicated. Simplify it with Polycraft – rugged polyethylene boats that ride soft and last long.
Cleaning. Waxing. Anode replacements.
Owning a boat can sometimes feel overwhelming, especially if your weekends are already busy.
Polycraft boats were built to solve that problem.
Made from marine-grade LDPE, they’re as soft on the water as fiberglass – without the hours of maintenance work each month.
And, with hulls that shrug off everything from chemical damage to object impacts, you don’t need to worry about expensive repairs or gradual corrosion.
Launch, play, and disembark.
Boating can be that simple.
With a Polycraft, it is.
Every Polycraft is chemical-resistant, easy to clean, and impervious to corrosion – which means less time on maintenance and more on the water.
Like the shock absorbers on a car, Polycraft hulls flex with water movement for a soft, quiet ride.
Polyethylene is 5 times more impact-resistant than fiberglass, making it ideal for rough landings and dodgy berths.
Polyethylene floats naturally – and, with a dual-walled hull, your Polycraft will always ride high.
Plastic isn’t anti-planet.
Every Polycraft vessel is built through zero-emissions roto-moulding in Bundaberg, Queensland.
They also happen to be 100% recyclable – although, with decades of practical life, you’ll probably retire before your boat does.
Yes, Polycraft boats are great for inshore fishing and exploring. They’re much more durable than either glass or alloy – as a material, polyethylene is around 5 times stronger than fibreglass. That makes them ideal for rough landings and moorings where they’re likely to bump against supports, rocks, or other vessels.
Pound for pound, Polycraft boats also tend to be heavier than other vessels. Their ride feels a lot more like glass than alloy – quiet, smooth, and stable underway. (Polyethylene also naturally flexes, which dissipates heavy swell impacts.)
Finally, poly hulls are naturally buoyant. Combined with a dual-wall hull that traps a layer of air inside, that attribute means Polycraft vessels are close to unsinkable. If you want a rugged runabout that needs minimal maintenance, Polycraft could be a great option.
A Polycraft boat is a roto-moulded vessel made from marine-grade virgin low-density polyethylene (LDPE) . It has a dual-wall hull, trapping a layer of air that adds to its natural buoyancy, and is equipped with a Mercury outboard motor. Most models also have reverse chines that improve handling and deflect spray.
Most boaties we talk to typically buy Polycraft vessels as runabouts or rugged inshore fishing vessels. They’re ideal for headache-free boating – easy to transport, easy to store, with very little maintenance. Larger Polycrafts, like the Warrior and the Frontier, can also be great options for near-shore exploration and fishing. Their freeboards are high enough to handle ocean chop, and they’re outfitted with all the bells and whistles you’d expect from a family-friendly rig.
No vessel is unsinkable, but Polycraft boats are extremely tough. Polyethylene floats naturally, and, when paired with Polycraft’s dual-wall hull design, is extremely unlikely to ‘sink’ in the same way a traditional glass or alloy vessel can. (Polyethylene is also around 5 times as strong as fibreglass, making it extremely resistant to object impacts.)
Polycraft boats are made of marine-grade low-density polyethylene (LDPE), one of the world’s most-used types of plastic. It’s:
The only ‘downside’ of polyethylene is that Polycraft boats are typically heavier than alloy boats of a comparable size. That extra weight, though, just adds to the in-water performance – they’re less affected by chop than lighter vessels.
