If your engine is 8 horsepower or more, look for the serial number on the right-hand side of the motor and halfway down the transom assembly (just below the engine’s powerhead). If your engine is less than 8 horsepower, look for it on top of the swivel bracket.

If you don’t have VesselView or a dashboard gauge, you can bring any fuel-injected Mercury into our Coomera workshop for a diagnosis. (We can’t check older carburetted models.) We’ll plug into your engine and use Mercury CDS G3 to extract up-to-date engine run time data. It’s a good way to check the history of a second-hand motor or get a sense of how many hours you clock up between services.
